At the beginning of February, the specialist insurance law firm Beale & Co produced their annual report looking at trends in the insurance market. Their introduction to the download link mentioned a backdrop of “global conflict” and “political tension” amongst other factors; wind forward a few weeks and their concerns are given added weight by the increasing conflict in the Middle East and the growing and often unpredictable fall-out that conflict brings.

The entire report is a worthwhile read but, as professional indemnity specialists, Juno finds a number of sections of the report particularly interesting and likely to be relevant to our client base, notably those relating to:

·       Solicitors

·       Accountants

·       The Construction Industry

·       Independent Financial Advisors

·       Insurance Brokers

·       Surveyors

And whilst the report delves into the unique challenges that face certain professions it is also interesting to note a number of recurring themes around increasing legislation, the stability of the insurance marketplace (and thus ability to sustain the current “soft market”) and that most topical of issues, Artificial Intelligence.

The Beale & Co report can be found here download here and we would encourage our clients and potential clients alike to take a look; there is something in there for everyone and it is likely to be of interest beyond any given specialism.
